Inside the Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School…
…India Festival USA was having its annual celebration.
The heart of the festival took place in the cafeteria area…
…where a DJ spun some tracks…
…the robotics team demonstrated their engineering skills…
…kids patiently waited for some face painting…
…and vendor tables lined the walls…
…helping festival goers learn more about education, Medicare…
…immigration, insurance…
…the Hindi language and culture…
…and even religion.
Many tables were hosted by local vendors with offerings that included fine jewelry…
…beautiful sarees…
…and quite a few tempting desserts.
But it was best to eat first…
…as there were all sorts of delicious main courses…
…lassis and naan.
In the end, I chose a lighter spicy potato dish (sukhi bhaji)…
…so that I didn’t feel so guilty when I ate both the Dubai chocolate cake and a decadent gulab jamun donut.
(I might have shared a little bit.)
After, with a ticket, I burned some of the calories walking down a long hallway…
…a very long hallway that eventually took me to the auditorium…
…where I could sit back and relax while enjoying the cultural talent show.
