AUTHOR’S NOTE: I’ve been to the Testicle Festival once before in 2013.

This post documents my experience on May 12, 2017.

It was a beautiful Friday evening at the Tiro Tavern…

…perfect for heading around back…

…and celebrating their annual Testicle Festival.

After a quick visit inside the tavern for wristbands and beer tickets…

…festival goers collected their beverages…

…and enjoyed them both with old friends…

…and new (everyone was pretty friendly here)…

…all while taking in some great live music.

For hungry visitors, the tavern offered plenty of fried-up goodies…

…while the neighboring volunteer fire department…

…also sold such items as pulled pork sandwiches…

…and quarter pounder weiners.

But don’t forget why festival goers came to the tavern.

Sooner or later, they would get in this line…

…either to take them to the festival souvenir table…

…for plenty of caps, shirts, and other mementos…

…or for the main attraction…

…a portion of the 250 lb of veal testicles…

…served in golden brown deliciousness…
…free-of-charge.

I admit, when I sat down with my own portion…

…I couldn’t believe how tender (and delicious) those veal testicles were.

You’re welcome, Tiro Tavern.
You’re very, very welcome.
