This post documents my experience on July 26, 2025.
I’ve also visited the festival in 2010, which you can read about at https://ohiofestivals.net/michael-serbian-festival-akron

The Serbian Festival took place on the grounds of St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church…

…which opened its doors to festival goers…

…allowing them to learn about the church’s history and faith…

…and simply take in the artistic beauty.

Outside, as children hung out at the activity tables or bounced about on the inflatables…

…visitors shopped among accessories and jewelry…

…grabbed a seat at a dining tent…

…to listen to some live entertainment…

…and eventually headed to the various food stations.

As volunteers cut and prepped meat…

…of the lamb and pig roasted a few feet away…

…hungry festival could head to the pavilion for these roasted meats…

…as well as dishes that included cheese pastries (gibanica) and minced beef/lamb/pork sausages (cevap)…

…with a bar and snow cone station to help wash it all down…

…and a crepe station for sweet finish.

But there was even more food inside the main building…

…with dishes that included stuffed cabbage, beef stew…

…and a delicious chicken paprikash dinner (with bread and salad).

This is also where the bakery and dessert table could be found…

…featuring fruit strudels…

…and a large section…

…devoted to meringue, baklava and assorted cookies…

…making it impossible not to take something home.
