This post documents my experience on September 20, 2013.
When I arrived near the village of Seaman, it was still a half hour before the festival started. So I used the 30 minutes to get a cup of coffee at McDonald’s and some gas for the car…
…before making my way into town…
…for their 100th Fall Festival!
Although there was plenty of festival entertainment…
…in the forms of a jump house, slide…

…rides, games…
…and a playground…
…I noticed the majority of festival goers at the horse-pulling competition…
…or in front of the stage…
…as they enjoyed the singing of local talent Sydney Michael.
Along the downtown area, there were some snack concessions to enjoy…
…but the majority of food came from local organizations…
…who also grilled their grub in the park…
…or served it alongside the pull competitions.

Shopping-wise, most items tended to be either of the flea market variety…

…or of home fragrance products (Pink Zebra/Scentsy)…
…but I did find some delicious-looking canned grub (including cinnamon pickles on the left)…
…made by a sweet Mansfield woman who moved to this area many years ago.
As you may have guessed, it was the local aspect I enjoyed the most…
…with area groups giving out popcorn and water (Seaman Church of Christ)…

…informing local voters…
…raffling off tons of donated prizes for a good cause (Seaman Life Squad/Scott Twp. Fire)…
…painting a child’s face for a buck…
…and even raising money…
…for some Green Devils football.
Happy 100th, Seaman!
May you have 100 more!
