In an area where the Ohio-Erie and Lancaster Lateral Canals once met…

…there is the town of Carroll…

…a cute town…

…with an annual event called the Old Timer’s Festival.

At first, I assumed it would be like any small town festival…

…but I was impressed by the number of inflatables they had…

…impressed that their vendors not only had nice crafts and signs…

…but even new age products…

…and impressed that there wasn’t only one stage…

…with some nice bluegrass music Cedar Hill Bluegrass Boys…

…but a second and bigger stage…

…with refreshments…

…merchandise for country band McGuffey Lane

…and even reserved seating.

Finally, I was really impressed by their food options.

Along with gourmet dogs and root beer floats…

…there were walleye fish sandwiches…

…bologna sandwiches (Carroll Lions)…

…and this burger place, advertising fresh beef patties from Fairfield County farmers (Jimmy’s Jawbreaker).

Needless to say, it was a popular place…

…understandably after seeing the food.
