AUTHOR’S NOTE: In 2021, the London Rib and Jazz Festival was renamed the London Rhythm and Rib Fest.
This post documents my experience on August 1, 2014.

I came to London for some bones (Haunted Backwoods)…
…rib bones, that is…
…at the London Rib & Jazz Fest.
The two day festival took place downtown…
…where a music stage was set up at one end…
…and vendors were lined down the street selling salsa (Seasonal Selections)…
…jewelry…
…art…
…and some eye-catching metal works (Blue Paw).
More metal works of the historic variety could be admired on the side streets at the festival…

…and to see all them required a healthy stroll.
Other festival activities included…
…jump houses…
…gemstone mining…
…and a visit to the Mad Scientist booth (Revive Baptist Church)…
…where kids sometimes found themselves…
…in a (balloon) sword fight with the Mad Scientist himself.
(Fortunately, this kid held his own pretty well.)
All these activities were helpful…

…because there were many caloric resources in food vendors…
…participating downtown restaurants…
…beer galore…
…ribs (Gumm’s)…
…ribs (Fine Smoke)…

…and more ribs (Rudy’s/Wilson’s).

And while the ovens and smokers continued to cook meat for the hungry patrons…
…some unfortunate festival goers got smoked themselves while ordering their food.
