This post documents my experience on August 11, 2018.
In Warren’s Courthouse Square…
…green, white and red decorated the gazebo…
…bocce balls rolled and knocked each other about on a sandy court…
…a young musician played an Italian melody on the accordion…
…and thousands of festival goers were trying to figure what to eat.
This was the Italian-American Heritage Festival…
…a celebration that not only offered visitors…
…information about the Italian country and people…
…fun cultural photo opportunities…
…and local genealogical resources through the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library…

…but it entertained adults with some social gambling…
…delighted families with great musical entertainment (Butch Nichols Band)…
..and offered many kids’ activities through arts and crafts…
…inflatables…
…a mechanical bull…
…and a carnival area with games…
…fair food…
…and rides.
But still, there was more with a relaxing beer garden…
…a basket raffle tent…
…filled with some great possibilities…
…and booths/trucks spread all about the square…

…offering local political support…

…info on special services in the community (Children Services/St. Vincent DePaul Society)…
…plenty of Italian souvenirs…
…and a mass amount of food!
Food was truly a major draw to this festival…

…as it offered Italian food lovers pasta…
…pizza…
…Italian sausage (DiRusso’s)…
…meatball sandwiches (Antone’s)…
…and the popular fried pepper sandwiches.
But, if you wanted something different, there were also ribs (Guy’s)…
…smoked turkey legs…
…and even bacon donut burgers (Eat and Treats).
Just remember to get in some veggies…
…because you don’t want to overdo it.
