This post documents my experience on June 3, 2017.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: I’ve been to the Hessler Street Fair once before in 2011.

After 6 years, I finally got back to the Hessler Street Fair…
…where this small community continued to celebrate their survival…
…through a fun hippie-esque festival.
As the Hessler Neighborhood Association raised funds through soda sales…
…food vendors with vegan soul food (Mo Bite) and urban farm grub (Hooper Farm)…
…set up to feed the masses.
Vendors lined the streets…
…selling pillows…
…colorful apparel…
…artistic signs (The Sign Guy)…
…hot sauce, jewelry (Blaze/Banana Bling)…
…and even astrological aromatherapy (Venus in Aquarius).
And, along Hessler Court, you could find the non-profit vendors…
…representing transitional housing centers (Clean House)…
…responsible investments (Green Investments)…
…and tons of books to help sharpen your brain (Mac’s Backs/Revolution Books).
But there was more than just love, peace…
…and funnel cake grease.
The Hessler Street Fair offered music…
…body art…
…and Harmony Park…
…where there were plenty of activities for kids.
Of course, there was even a caricature booth (Let’s Face It)…
…in case your kid wanted a souvenir.
