The Great Mohican Indian Pow-Wow – Loudonville, Ohio – My Experience

This post documents my experience on July 14, 2018.

When I arrived at the Great Mohican Indian Pow-Wow

…I first followed my nose down a path of vendors…

…leading me to food stands selling buffalo burgers (Great Plains)…

…BBQ (Smokin’ Bros BBQ)…

…and decadent frybread (right – Nikki’s)…

…while the sun’s heat had me consider some cooler options(Good Olde Days/Sno-2-Go).

I also found a nice amount of vendors present…

…offering jewelry (Kelly Indian Jewelry)…

…furs…

…dream catchers and satchels…

…instruments and CD’s (Douglas Blue Feather)…

…apparel…

…Cherokee face painting…

…and more (Thomas Mulroney).

But it wasn’t long before I was pulled away…

…by the sounds of music…

…and while there was a tented stage set up primarily for musical performances and story telling…

…the music I heard came from a dance competition…

…where I was impressed by the ladies…

…and men…

…who danced their hearts out.
