Festival of Trees – Wooster, Ohio – My Experience

This post documents my experience on November 22, 2013.

After all this talk of my upcoming 300th festival

…Julia and I finally made it happen at Wooster’s American Red Cross…

…at the annual Festival of Trees.

Taking place on both floors…

…the festival offered free refreshments…

…Christmas music…

…opportunities to write to the soldiers overseas…

…(on some really cool cards)…

…and items to bid on in the form of gingerbread villages…

…quilts…

…gift baskets…

…wreaths…

…furniture…

…sparkly golden animal candles…

…and a colorful assortment…

…of Christmas trees.

Tree themes included construction equipment…

…princesses…

…patriotism…

…Star Trek…

…consequence…

…and the Red Cross itself.

And they were fun to look at…

…vote on…

…and pose with…

…especially when it was your 300th festival!

Afterward, we continued the celebration in downtown Wooster…

…where the Festival of Tree’s opening night occurred during downtown Wooster’s festivities.

All the storefronts were decorated…

…horse-drawn wagons went up and down the main street…

…and there were reindeer…

…free cookie/hot chocolate refreshments…

…music…

…and Santa Claus.

We ended the night with a fantastic (duck) dinner at South Street Bistro

…and I couldn’t help but contemplate what opportunities might be waiting around the corner.
