Downtown Willoughby Rib Burn Off – Willoughby, Ohio – My Experience

This post documents my experience on May 21, 2022.

The Downtown Willoughby Rib Burn Off took place along Erie Street…

…giving festival goers the opportunity to enjoy BBQ from national competitors (Desperado’s)…

…and participating food trucks (Fat Freddies/Fungry)…

…as well as from a nice selection of downtown Willoughby restaurants who joined in the BBQ fun (Nora’s Public House/Sage Karma Kitchen).

BBQ options were everywhere you looked…

…and the temptation was great for a pulled pork sandwich, pulled pork over mac and cheese…

…or just some classic ribs (BG’s Main Event)…

…but there were other food options, such as gyros and corn dogs…

…french cut french fries…

…decadent desserts (Nothing Bundt Cakes)…

…and plenty of beer, mixed drinks…

…and old fashioned lemonade to wash it down (Kirtland Kiwanis).

As festival goers enjoyed their food at various eating stations spread across the grounds…

…three stages of performing artists (Alex Zinni/Tim Bradach)…

…did their best to entertain them (Kevin Conway).

Meanwhile, vendor booths greeted and chatting with those who walked by…

…offering legal services for those in need (Elk and Elk)…

…toys for dogs, shirts for humans (Barktown Willoughby)…

…gifts for dad…

…and toys for kids.

This last group even had their own section with fun inflatables (all free)…

…and a kids’ table with free crayons, stickers, sunglasses (Meijer)…

…and even a cool drinking cup via the Plinko game.
