I woke up early with some coffee and this tikka masala chicken roll purchased from the night before.
By 8:30, I was outside and waiting for a bus to pick me up, only to take me to the bus station, where I exchanged my voucher for two tickets and got on a second bus, and then rode out an hour…
…to the Blue Lagoon for my 10 AM entry time.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any videos or photos of the Blue Lagoon pool (as my phone was in the locker).
I really enjoyed the Blue Lagoon and I think I was in the pool for nearly two hours, taking advantage of the steam room and the sauna as well. It was also rather easy to talk to others, especially since you have blue mud on your face.
I think the mud even made me look more youthful.
At 1 PM, I had a nice lunch at their restaurant Lava…
…where I enjoyed some bread with salted butter…
…an incredible langoustine soup with garlic-marinated langoustine, white chocolate and seaweed…
…where two big chunks of perfectly cooked langoustine waited for me at the bottom…
…and some delicious cod with Jerusalem artichoke, almonds, and grapes in a brown butter sauce.
After lunch, I walked back toward the bus to head into down…
…and the ride was pretty with all the lava and snow.
I rested on the bus ride back and decided to immediately take advantage of the sunlight in Reykjavik!
I first went to Tiu Dropar (Ten Drops)…
…to grab myself a delicious hot chocolate with whipped cream…
…and then strolled through town to enjoy wall art…
…cool window displays…
…cute shops…
…strange necklaces…
…interesting bars and restaurants (Lebowski Bar/Chuck Norris Grill)…
…and a mailbox for Santa.
I even had some time to walk by HallgrÃmskirkja church…
…and purchase some groceries for the following morning (salmon and salmon eggs in the morning…yum!).

I wasn’t sure if the Northern Lights Tour would be going on, so I ate earlier than normal and went to Sushi Samba…
…where I got some free bread…
…and then ordered up some avocado fries with chili jam and lime…
…miso marinated eggplant with peanut soy and artichoke puree…
…and this Amazon roll, made of celery, green apples, cucumber, avocado and dill mayo.
Overall, a pleasant meal.
I headed back to the hotel, finding out that the tour was canceled again, due to cloud coverage, and moved to Thursday.
I opened up some wine purchased from the liquor store and relaxed with some TV.
