Christmas Around the World takes place at the Lake Erie Crushers Stadium and offers an educational passport experience with activities, international food vendors, miniature golf, a tube slide, Glockenspiel entertainment and Santa Claus.

I was given tickets for this event.
We headed to Lake Erie Crushers Stadium for Christmas Around the World…
…passing a popular bar…
…with a selection of festive drinks…
…and beelining to the Christmas Around the World experience.
Once inside the doors…
…we were given a passport…
…to guide us and stamp along exhibits…
…each of which represented a country where we read about local Christmas traditions…
…took part in all sorts of playful activities…
…became familiar with such Christmas characters as Italy’s La Befana, Greece’s kallikantzaroi…
…Iceland’s Yule Lads and Christmas Cat…
…and even Krampus in person.
Fortunately, there was a free sample of beer or mulled wine to settle the post-Krampus nerves (candy for the kids)…
…and some soothing ice-sculpting.
Deeper into the festival…
…there was an international food court just outside the stadium gates…
…with the flavors of Mexico, the Mediterranean…
…Italy and Poland…
…with some sweet funnel cake and donut options to end the meal.
While the only real gift vendor consisted of the stadium store with festival and Christmas merch…
…there was a sweet shop…
…selling a selection of Christmas themed candy.
This happened to be right next to the Santa tent…
…who was nice enough to give a candy cane after a short chat.
Finally, the baseball field and stadium offered some festival features…
…including an additional bar and concessions…
…a miniature golf course…
…and a fun tube slide.
And, if you heard music starting up at the glockenspiel…
…it was easy to run over and catch an entertaining show.
