The Port Clinton Pirate Fest takes place at Waterworks Park with all sorts of pirate vendors, pirate themed entertainment, food trucks and pirates themselves (along with other characters).

The Port Clinton Pirate Fest landed off the Lake Erie coast…
…and set up camp in Waterworks Park.
Vendors were spread about in two main areas…
…offering items that included crystal skulls and pressed flower art…
…dragonesque hunter bags…
…3D maritime wood art…
…animal bone jewelry…
…and all your Pirate Look needs…
…from hats and swords…
…and fans, flags and beads…
…to fashionable and form-fitting outfits for the ladies.
Novelty items and games for pirate pastimes…
…could be found inside this giant pirate ship store.
For the peckish pirates…
…there were plenty of food options…
…like “cannonball cakes” and “barnacle rings”…
…an assortment of burgers and subs…
…Cajun and Puerto Rican dishes…
…and Peg Leg waffle logs for dessert.
While coffee and tea refreshments were readily available…
…visitors could head to the big tent…
…for a stiffer drink at the bar…
…where they would either enjoy it at the beer garden with friends…
…or while cheering on a stageful of pirates…
…as they competed in a Best Pirate Contest…
…(my vote was with these guys).
More entertainment could be found around the grounds…
…offering pirate song…
…acrobatics (Sky Circus)…
…and mermaid fun (with education)…
Other activities allowed guests to pan for gems…
…glimpse into their future…
…get closer to nature…
…by means of an unnaturally dressed monkey…
…and even meet up and chat with creatures beyond your average pirate.
Sprout the Fae of Seeds and GarrBodge Duh Gamblin Goblin, for example, were big hits with the guests (they had awesome outfits)…
…and I found this mermaid and Voodoo Queen particularly delightful.
