The Parma Pierogi Palooza took place in Veterans Memorial Park…
…where festival goers loaded up with hand poured pops…
…slushie cocktails and ice cold beers…
…to beat the heat as they browsed local vendors…
…for handmade soaps…
…seasonings and rubs…
…homemade treats for people…
…all natural treats for dogs…
…pickles for all…
…and pierogi ornaments that were too cute to eat.
Fortunately, there were plenty of food vendors serving up pierogi that you could eat…
…with fillings that ranged from classic potato and cheese to spicy black bean…
…including some gourmet selections from The Pierogi Lady…
…who sported quite the impressive line.
And, if you wanted even more variety, you could find deep fried pierogi, pierogi prepared as tacos…
…or pierogi paired with dishes like chicken paprikash.
I went with a very untraditional route: potato cheese pierogi glazed with peach jam and topped with smoked brisket…
…but they tasted traditional to me as I enjoyed them in the dining test.
Maybe the music helped.
