This Groundhog Day Weekend, enjoy the Ice Festival in Vermilion, Vendor Shows and more.
Welcome back, festival fans.
As the weather warms up a bit and gets more tolerable, we have a few good reasons to get out of the house this weekend.
(Let’s just hope the Groundhog doesn’t see his shadow this year.)
The main event this weekend is Vermilion’s Ice A Fair (Review), a cute event where ice carvings lead festival goers to wander downtown Vermilion with the hopes that they’ll visit local businesses, enjoy the Trolley Tours and Kids Train Rides, and stick around for the Fire and Ice at 6 with some free hot chocolate. I’m a big fan of Vermilion, so I do recommend it.
Also this weekend, you can enjoy the Winter Edition of the Cincy Beerfest, Winter Jam in Cleveland and various expos and shows, including some early Valentine’s Day Vendor Shows.

I’ve been updating the Ohio Festival Guide and Ohio Fair and Show Guide for 2025.
If you didn’t already know, any date with an asterisk (*) means that I haven’t confirmed that event. Once the date is confirmed by me, I remove the asterisk and update the listing as necessary.
So far, I have swept through the listings through the month of May.
In February, I will go through June and July events.
In March, I’ll go through August and September events.
As an FYI, just because the event has an asterisk doesn’t mean that the official festival website linked to the event isn’t already updated. So feel free to check it, just to be sure.
Also, sometimes, by checking an event in May, I find info on other events going on later in the year and confirm those as well.
So you may be surprised and happy as you plan for things in the fall.
