43.) North Royalton Community Festival Review – August 25, 2012

When I arrived at Royalton and Ridge Roads for the North Royalton Community Festival, I was faced with an interesting problem…

…where was a festival goer supposed to park?

There is a visible parking lot next to the big yellow X (festival location)….

…but that parking lot was used for festival rides.

I ended up driving around the big triangle once or twice, not wanting to park at a private business…

…and decided on parking in an “additional parking” lot wedged between the local police station and a nursing home.

(Fortunately, my car wasn’t towed nor ticketed.)

When I finally arrived at the festival, I saw that it was divided…

…with one side consisting of fair food, games…

…rides and jousting…

…and the other side dealing more with local businesses/organizations…

…such as Royalton Automotive…

…the YMCA

…the Bloodview Haunted House

…and the NEO Church, which gave free bottles of water.

The local side also included an eating area…

…surrounded by a handful of standard food vendors…

…local restaurants Dolce Wrap and Royalwood Wine & Deli…

…and musical entertainment via a DJ.

But most impressive for me were the booths held by men and women of service…

…such as the resident volunteer Community Emergency Response Team…

…the North Royalton Police Department…

…which had a Bomb Squad robot present…

…and the North Royalton Fire Department, who offered free hats…

…and a shot at the hose.
