42.) Slovak Festival Review – Sterling Heights, Michigan – August 25, 2018

This year marked the 100th anniversary of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Parish…

…and their 28th Annual Slovak Festival.

Off to one side was the kids’ area…

…where children could jump…

…climb…

…roll…

…express themselves through henna and face painting…

…and play all sorts of games.

There was also a Children’s Tent…

…filled with carnival games…

…where winnings could be redeemed for prizes.

Adults, meanwhile, could head here…

…and find a shopping area filled with church merchandise…

…special 100th anniversary rosaries…

…jewelry, purses…

…shirts made a Slovakian artist (Sopa Design)…

…and hand-cut crystal.

Past the shopping was a dining room…

…where hungry festival goers could get a hot meal…

…made of Slovakian deliciousness…

…and enjoy it with a cold beverage…

…and some potential musical entertainment.

Here you could also find some raffle possibilities…

…free religious information, rosaries and medals…

…and a large bake sale table…

…with plenty of homemade breads…

…and tempting pies.

And, finally, people of all ages came to the large outdoor tent…

…thanks to both kid-friendly and ethnic dishes…

…a nice selection of snacks and treats…

…a larger bar…

…and plenty of seating before a grand stage…

…where the entertainment was spectacular (Junior Sarisan Slovak Folk Ensemble).
