24.) Sistersville Marble Festival Review – Sistersville, West Virginia – September 27, 2019

AUTHOR’S NOTE: I visited the festival on Friday morning before any serious crowds had arrived. I was told that Saturday is the big day.

****

The Sistersville Marble Festival is a marble show and festival…

…where marble enthusiasts come together (WV Marble Shooters Association)…

…promoting marbles to festival goers through various games…

…as well as through the selling of an amazing marble collection…

…from classic marbles…

…and marbles you may have remembered from your childhood…

…to more unique hand painted marbles…

…fancier marbles…

…larger marbles…

…more eccentric marbles…

…and marbles that would easily fit in an art gallery (Geoffrey Beetem Designs).

The variety seemed endless…

…with more marbles being made on-site…

…and it was definitely interesting to watch the process.

But, while most vendors sold marbles in one form or another…

…other vendor offerings included creative glass sculptures…

…framed paintings…

…shirts, hats…

…local maple syrup (Sweetcreek Sugarworks)…

…wooden toys, homemade fudge…

…and all sorts of odds and ends via a connecting neighborhood yard sale.

There was also a stage for musical entertainment…

…prize games for the kids…

…including this special game tent to help support the Sistersville Spookhouse

…and food options that included homemade ice cream in a plethora of flavors (Nana’s Pizza and Pie)…

…and meal options that included sandwiches, pizza, nachos…

…and good ole hot dogs.
