46.) Michigan Renaissance Festival Review – Holly, Michigan – August 26, 2018

Down in Holly Grove…

…there’s a magical land…

…with mermaids…

…unicorns…

…a living tree…

…and many other fascinating characters.

Welcome to the Michigan Renaissance Festival

…a huge festival…

…where ogres sang…

…princesses flourished…

…elves and warriors could walk their dog together in peace…

…and visitors could easily transform themselves…

…into whomever they wanted…

…thanks to all the costume shops…

…leather goods…

…hats…

…elf ears and horns…

…wooden shields and swords…

…a plethora of crafted weapons…

…and even some hatched dragons to carry on their shoulder.

But even if they felt fine with their current image…

…they could still enjoy shopping among journals…

…tapestries…

…crazy creature mounts (Silver Root Studio)…

…maple syrup…

…gemstones, jewelry…

…and magic spheres.

Shopping aside…

…there was plenty to do…

…with bouncing…

…pony rides…

…soft things to toss…

…sharp things to throw…

…psychics…

…pub crawls…

…henna and face painting…

…an entertaining maze…

…a fairy forest…

…and TONS of entertainment…

…that included music…

…theater…

…comedy…

…birds of prey…

…fire eating…

…and even some washing well wenches…

…which meant you could stay here all day…

…and would eventually need to eat.

Fortunately, along with pubs…

…there were plenty of places to get food…

…and they served everything from BBQ to turkey drumsticks…

…Scotch eggs to pickles…

…rather big and delicious burgers…

…and your mandatory serving of unicorn poop.
