Weekend Festival Picks

September 22-25, 2016

Festivals are listed chronologically.

Barnesville Pumpkin Festival

1.) Barnesville Pumpkin Festival – September 22-25 – FREE

This is a nice pumpkin festival with all your food, crafts and rides.  There’s also some pumpkin art projects, interesting competitions (ie tobacco spitting), live music and many giant pumpkins.  Just be sure to explore the town as it may not be all in one spot.  Check out my 2012 at http://ohiofestivals.net/barnesville-pumpkin-festival-2012/

Union County Covered Bridge Bluegrass Festival – North Lewisburg

2.) Union County Covered Bridge Bluegrass Festival – North Lewisburg – September 23-25 – FREE

Head to the Pottersburg Bridge (built in 1868), where a festival will take place with bluegrass music, bridge tours, vintage baseball games, vendors, food and more.  Really a beautiful setting for a festival.  Read my 2013 Review where I made it right at closing at http://ohiofestivals.net/union-county-covered-bridge-bluegrass-festival-north-lewisburg/

Ingenuityfest - Cleveland

3.) Ingenuityfest – Cleveland – September 23-25 – $5 (12 and Under Free)

Ingenuityfest is moving yet again – this time out of downtown to Saint Clair Superior – but still with interesting artist installations, performances, artisan vendors, food trucks and more.  Check out my 2010 Review at http://ohiofestivals.net/79-ingenuityfest-cleveland-september-26-2010/

Tipp City Mum Festival

4.) Tipp City Mum Festival – September 23-25 – FREE

The Mum Festival is pretty impressive in size with a lot of vendors (many flea market types), crafts, food options, entertainment and more.  The waffles made by the Fire Department looked particularly good. Check out my 2012 Review at http://ohiofestivals.net/tipp-city-mum-festival-2012/

Columbus Oktoberfest

5.) Columbus Oktoberfest– September 23-25 – $10 Parking (Admission is FREE)

A German marketplace, a children’s area, entertainment, beer and all the sausages and cream puffs that you could ever want.  For more info, please read my 2010 Review at http://ohiofestivals.net/72-columbus-oktoberfest-september-24-2010/

Old Worthington Market Day – Worthington

6.) Old Worthington Market Day – Worthington – September 24 – FREE

Over 250 vendors cater to an estimated crowd of 20,000 along N. High Street in Worthington.  A great vendor selection and a nice chance to eat from local restaurants.  There’s also entertainers scattered and some farmer’s market goodies.  Read my 2014 Review at http://ohiofestivals.net/old-worthington-market-day-worthington/

Country Applefest - Lebanon

7.) Country Applefest – Lebanon – September 24 – FREE

When I went to this festival in 2010, I was amazed at the amount of vendors, food and entertainment in downtown Lebanon.  Of course, it was also quite cramped with all the people.  Now, the festival is located at the fairgrounds and there are still tons of vendors.  I need to come back and see how the feel has changed, but, in the meantime, you can read my old review to get an idea of what things to expect – http://ohiofestivals.net/74-country-applefest-lebanon-september-25-2010/

8.) Barberton Mum Fest -September 24-25 – FREE

Where else can you see a million mum blooms at a festival that also offers food, crafts, entertainment, water ski shows, sand sculptures and a kid’s area?  The setting is beautiful and the festival is fun.  Check out my 2011 Review at http://ohiofestivals.net/57-barberton-mum-fest-september-25-2011/

Prairie Days – Greenville

9.) Prairie Days – Greenville – September 24-25 – FREE

This is a great family festival at the Shawnee Prairie Preserve where you can learn about history through activities, food sampling, entertainment and more.  Read my 2012 Review at http://ohiofestivals.net/prairie-days-greenville-2012/

geneva grape jamboree

10.) Geneva Grape Jamboree – September 24-25 – FREE

The Geneva Grape Jamboree not only has a craft and vendor show, rides, entertainment and wine tastings, there are also grape pies, ice cream and juice to enjoy.  Check out my 2015 Review at http://ohiofestivals.net/geneva-grape-jamboree-revisited/
