It was a beautiful day at Cedar Lakes…

…perfect for the Mountain State Art and Craft Fair.

This festival was spread out over a large picturesque property…

…and sectioned into one Americas Village…

…and 4 villages based on the cultures that make up Appalachia.

There was an Irish pub/restaurant in the Celtic Village…

…Polka music in the Swiss Village…

…pizza in the Italian Village…

…and some old-fashioned Americana vendors in the Americas Village…

…but, otherwise, there didn’t seem to strict rules on what you found in each.

Vendors were in all villages…

 …selling baskets…

…jewelry…

…apparel…

…and crafts.

There were fine wooden carvings (Christina K. Casto)…

…wood fired pottery (Bill Meadows)…

…colorful hammocks…

…handmade soaps (SwallowTail)…

…tons of foodstuffs to sample…

…wines to taste…

…and some cider and beer.

Sprinkled in the villages, festival goers could find plenty of great entertainment (Independent State)…

…historical demonstrations…

…dance lessons…

…historical buildings…

…a quilt show…

…and various animals to milk…

…pet…

…admire…

…or envy.

Finally, food vendor offerings ranged from chicken dinners to kettle corn…

…with burgers…

…some popular BBQ (Jaws)…

…and a lot of lemonade to help cool you off.

But if that didn’t do the trick, you could head into the air-conditioned Craft House…

…where there was additional food…

…freshly baked bread…

…and some decadent fudge.
