32.) Eastlake Riverfest – August 4, 2012

Eastlake is the “Crown Jewel of Lake County” and where you can find the Lake County Captains minor league team, the Boulevard of 500 Flags Memorial, the First Energy generating plant that shut down and led to the Northeast Blackout of 2003

…and the Eastlake Riverfest.

The Eastlake Riverfest is a quaint town festival located along the Chagrin River – although I never noticed the river during my visit.

To help celebrate the river theme…

…the Chagrin River Salmon Association was present…

…offering fishing opportunities with the help of local farms (Willow Valley/Willoughby Ohio).

But if you didn’t have time to put a fish on the line…
.

…you could quickly put some on a plate for $11...

…as well as gyros, pizza, hot dogs…

…an impressive collection of fried foods…

…and beer to wash it all down.

Vendor-wise, the festival had all the things you might expect…
.

…such as sports merchandise and clothing…

…and even some extras, like African art…

…and natural products (Earth’s Natural Treasures).

There were also plenty of activities at the festival…

…thanks to various rides and games in the carnival area…

…caricature possibilities…

…musical entertainment…

…and gambling in the forms of a casino…

…a Chinese auction…

…and a break-a-board challenge from New World Karate.

Of course, if you really wanted to win big, there were two big-ticket raffles…
.

…where you could win a motorcycle from the NEOJDRFWF

…or a fancy classic car from the charming ladies of Hospice of the Western Reserve.

Definitely a fun bunch!
